Our Story

Alice, the inspiration behind Alice Jean Designs, holding her great grand-daughter
'Inspired by Alice...'

Alice Jean Designs

Alice Jean was my Grandma.

She was always knitting, sewing, or doing some kind of craft.
When I started my original hair accessories business, Pretty Little Petals, in 2012, she loved seeing my latest creations and would often knit beautiful beanies for my market stalls.

While we would chat and craft together, my girls would play with her extensive collection of beaded necklaces, bracelets, and buttons. When the girls were little, we shared many shopping trips to Spotlight with my Grandma (always followed by a coffee stop at the café next door!). We'd usually come away with an assortment of wool and other goodies and just enjoyed exploring the aisles together.

Those girls are now in their teens and enthusiastically joining in the world of handmade and contributing their own creations to the business, including handmade earrings, bracelets, key rings and greeting cards. They also both share her love of painting. Whilst my grandma is no longer with us, her memory lives on in our creations and it seems fitting to include her on this journey.

At Alice Jean Designs, we create handmade hair accessories and jewellery designed with busy mums and their families in mind. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted, combining quality materials and timeless style. Whether it's a beautiful hair bow, a practical school headband, or a gorgeous pair of earrings, our goal is to create items that bring a little joy to everyday life.

Thank you for supporting our journey and helping keep Alice's legacy alive, one handmade piece at a time.
